AN ACT TO CREATE SECTION 51-9-120, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT ANY COUNTY THAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PEARL RIVER WATER SUPPLY DISTRICT THAT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INDEBTEDNESS OF THE DISTRICT MAY WITHDRAW FROM THE DISTRICT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. This section shall be codified as Section 51-9-120, Mississippi Code of 1972:

51-9-120. The board of supervisors of any county that is included in the Pearl River Water Supply District may elect to withdraw such county from the district if the withdrawing county is not responsible for any district bonds or any other indebtedness and liabilities of the district on the date of such county's withdrawal from the district.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1999.
